The Sound of Science
At the end of the half term, Years 4 and 5 were lucky enough to be visited by the Gabrieli Roar choral organisation, who were accompanied by a brass quintet. Not only did we enjoy a singing workshop, we were able to consolidate our learning in Science around the topic of 'sound'.
As we watched demonstrations of the tuba, horn, trombone and trumpets, we were able to relate this to our knowledge and own investigations of vibrations, amplification, and how length of tube affects pitch. We saw the science in action when we were treated to a special rendition of 'Let It Go', performed on these instruments!
