There have been special activities all week themed around royalty and particularly the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Aside from the whole-school picnic and aerial photo, we have been making bunting and flags, making crowns and participating in our own Royal Parade.  We have learned about the Trooping of the Colour in London and the Royal Military Tattoo in Edinburgh. 

The fun will culminate in a posh Palace Tea Party with cucumber sandwiches (which the children will make for themselves) and cupcakes baked especially by Mrs Allen.

I wonder which of these questions your little ones can now answer.  What colours are in the Union Flag? What is the name of our Queen? Where does she live?
