A fun day had at the farm
As a fantastic finish for our topic 'Amazing Animals', Reception spent the day at Mead Open Farm.
The day began with the children very excited about going on a coach journey. As we made our way to the farm the children enthusiastically pointed out everything they could see, from trees to cars - they just could not stop.
Once we arrived at the farm the children were given an outline for the day. This included activities such as the bunny hop, pony grooming and a ride in a tractor.
In between these activities, the children got to feed the goats, sheep and pigs with special food provided by the farm. We were very proud of all the children as several were nervous to feed the animals, but almost all gave it a go.
Another popular activity the children got to have a go on was the jumping pillows - even the adults got on.
To end the day the children got to explore 'Topsy Turvy Towers Playground'. The playground included wobbly wobbly bridges, long slippery tube slides and several tall towers.
