Our topic this half term is 'Super me Super you' and to get us off to a great start we begin Autumn 2 with a Superhero dress up day. 

Children were asked to come into school dressed either as a superhero or an everyday hero. During the week we will be exploring the differences and similarities between the superheroes we might read about in books and comics or watch in movies and cartoons, and the everyday heroes who keep us healthy when or keep our streets clean or keep us safe. 

Children will also be thinking about what makes them 'super'. What is unique and special about you? They will be learning new vocabulary and structuring verbal sentences using connectives such as because. 

We will also have our first try at writing for a purpose using the phonemes and letter formation skills we have learnt so far in Phonics.
