Our new topic in Reception this term is All about animals 

To start our topic we have shared a variety of non-fiction books with the children about animals. The children then talked about their favourite animals and why they liked them. After this the children had the opportunity to draw their favourite animal and write about it. 

We were really impressed with how hard the children tried and how well they did. Children were using their new phonic skills to write the sounds they heard in words and some were using finger spaces and full stops without the need for a reminder - fabulous! 

We are very proud of their efforts and we are sure their grown-ups at home will be too.
