The story of Handa's Surprise is all about a young girl who puts seven delicious fruits in her basket only for them to be taken by different animals.

To support our learning, the children had the opportunity to taste some of the fruits featured in the story and write about their favourite one. As well as writing about the story, the children have also completed several different activities all linked to Handa's Surprise.  They have painted their favourite fruits and animals from the story, made their own African necklaces, used fruit moulds in the sand, explored African instruments and learnt all about the animals in Africa.
